Setting Pure Intentions

In order to make our dreams come true, we must take action rather than wishing for what we want.

I am planning the next fall retreat for Saturday, September 8, and it is all about bringing abundance into our lives. And the key word is “bringing.” Wishing is not enough. We must set our intentions toward being abundant. It’s not hard work, but it is work.

These are days when our thoughts are manifesting and producing outcomes. Very exciting times! But also, these times can be quite scary, if we don’t know what we’re doing. Let me offer some examples.

This weekend, a family member called to say she had gone to see an infomercial/ documentary called 2016 Obama’s America. She is a devote Catholic, and she has been around crowds that would try to convince her that Obama is a Muslim and he wants this country to be Muslim. Now let me add my own disclaimer: there is nothing wrong with being Muslim. Keith Ellison represents Minneapolis, and he is a Muslim and a very good person who cares about his constituents. Unfortunately, some people are unable to differentiate between extremists in the Muslim faith, just as there are extremists in the Christian faith and the Catholic faith. So to be alarmed that our Christian president might be a Muslim is wrong on so many levels.

There are so many reasons why this movie could be dangerous for a gullible crowd, basically because it is based on nothing factual. It’s starts with Obama being born to a Kenyan father, and pretty much dissolves into fiction after that point. But the real danger is in the power of suggestion. We now have several million people who think Obama is going to change our country by taking away our freedoms and making the United States a Muslim country. They are manifesting their fears into the world, thus creating a fearful world. What provokes these sick people who shoot at movie theater goers and Temple goers and abortion clinic staff and poltical crowds and sight-seeing crowds? Fear. And so infomercials like this movie create much more harm than they do good for our country.

If we manifest fear, we create fear. If we manifest love, we create love. If we manifest compassion, we create compassion.

The same thing can be said about anything we set our intentions on. If we imagine ourselves as always being broke, we will always be broke. If we imagine ourselves having enough money to travel when we wish, we will have enough money to travel when we wish.

The Universe is offering us everything we imagine, and so it is time for us to be responsible and only ask for what we truly desire.
